As a photographer, I’m driven to capture a scene that expresses and accentuates the subject’s essence as best as possible. I love collaboration, and with this photoshoot I worked with Jarrett Daniel and Tyler Reece, who are creators of their own clothing brands and mixed media art. I admire their hard work and dedication that goes into what they create. With that, I was easily inspired to work alongside them and to learn more about their process to further the quality of our photoshoot. After understanding more about their work I decided to photograph their designs with 35mm film and Polaroid film. The finish of the colors and textures that film is able to produce compliments their designs well. The distinct shape of the film edges and trim gives everything a timely look. The intention of the photoshoot was to combine Jarrett Daniels and DINO, putting together full outfits with their hand-made clothing. As I pursue my photography career trending towards fashion photography, it was a great experience working with up-and-coming designers and artists. Having to create our own story and way to show my process involves developing and scanning the film myself. This was the second time using Polaroid film for a photoshoot, and I look forward to experimenting with it again.
